WESTFIELD

 

2:40 a.m.: motor vehicle fire, Joyce Drive, a caller reports that there is a vehicle on fire in her neighbor’s driveway, the responding firefighters report that the fire was able to be extinguished without any further property damage, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was requested to remove the vehicle from the driveway;

7:54 a.m.: burglary, Clinton Avenue, a caller reports that her bicycle was stolen from her basement sometime in the last week, the caller reports that her landlord recently had found a broken window into the basement that he had repaired without thinking anything of it, the responding officer filed an incident report;

1:44 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller reports that a group of people near an Elm Street walking bridge have open containers of alcohol and were yelling obscenities at her and her children as they walked by, the responding officer reports that he made contact with the group who denied yelling at anyone, the officer reports that the group was sent on their way without incident;

7:45 p.m.: vandalism, Sycamore Street, a caller reports that his house was just egged by a group of teenagers on mountain bikes, the responding officer reports that there were two eggs discovered above one window but that no damage was done to the property;

11:13 p.m.: motor vehicle accident, Fowler Road, a caller reports that she heard a vehicle strike something outside before the vehicle fled the scene, the responding officer reports that the vehicle struck a deer and that he would attempt to dispatch it, the officer reports that the deer fled into the woods before he could do so.
