9:25 a.m.: animal complaint, Beveridge Boulevard, a caller reports that she trapped a cat which broke into her home via a basement window, the responding animal control officer reports the woman brought a tabby and white domestic shorthaired cat to the animal shelter;
2:01 p.m.: larceny, WalMart, 141 Springfield Road, a store employee called to report that a woman has been seen shoplifting in the store, the responding officer reports the suspect was found to have attempted to steal merchandise valued at $62 and was served with a “No trespassing” order;
3:02 p.m.: breaking and entering, Crown Street, a caller reports her home was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports there are no signs of forcible entry and a suspect was identified;
10:29 p.m.: suspicious person, Sackett Street, a caller reports an unknown man entered her home and asked that police be called, the man was sent back outside but kicked the door damaging a glass panel before police arrived, the man said the he did not know who or where he was and said that he had passed out after smoking marijuana, a criminal compliant for breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor and trespass was filed, see story in the April 30 edition of The Westfield News.
