Major crime and incident report

8:14 a.m.: disabled vehicle, East Main Street, a caller reports that there is a disabled vehicle on the westbound side of an East Main Street Bridge and there was nobody around it, the responding officer reports that a family member of the vehicle’s operator is on their way to the scene with fuel for the vehicle, the officer reports that the operator, Christopher Demers, 22, of 134 Union Street, Westfield, has a warrant for his arrest issued by Springfield District Court and he will be placed into custody, the officer reports that the family member arrived on the scene with fuel but the vehicle still would not start, so a tow truck was requested;
9:02 a.m.: motor vehicle vandalism, North Cherry Street, a caller reports that a vehicle with a flat tire is blocking the road, the disabled vehicle’s operator reports that he had gotten stuck in the snow as he was backing out when he noticed three of his tires had been slashed, and an expletive had been keyed into his rear passenger side door, the responding officer reports that AAA had been notified before police arrived on scene and the vehicle was removed from the road;
4:49 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a walk-in party from a Southampton Road convenience store reports that one of his past employees had stolen a book of lottery scratch tickets from his store, the responding officer reports that they have taken an incident report.
