Major crime and incident report

4:56 a.m.: downed tree, Montgomery Road, a caller reports that a tree is down and blocking one side of the roadway, the responding officer reports that additional units were requested to handle traffic while the department of public works removed the tree;
6:34 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, Sackett Street, a caller reports that her vehicle had been stolen from her driveway overnight, dispatch reports that a school employee discovered the vehicle behind Franklin Avenue School, the responding officer reports that a state police canine was unable to get a track on whoever took the vehicle to the school, the caller reports that nothing appeared to have been taken from her vehicle;
8:51 a.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, Highland View Street, a caller reports that her two vehicles were broken into and rummaged through overnight but that nothing appeared to be stolen, the caller reports that she simply wanted the incident documented;
9:30 a.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, Ellis Street, a caller reports that her two motor vehicles were broken into overnight, the responding officer filed an incident report;
1:25 p.m.: disturbance, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports that they could hear what sounded like a fight in the basement of their residential complex, a second caller reports that they came across a sleeping male party in the basement who fled when they approached him, multiple callers later reported that the male party was seen walking near the residential complex, the responding officers report that Savuth Vith, 32, of 42 South Maple St., Westfield was placed under arrest for two outstanding warrants;
3:05 p.m.: animal complaint, Mechanic Street, a caller reports that she found a dog with only a flea collar on Mechanic Street, the responding animal control officer reports that the small, black and white colored dog was transported to the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter, the ACO reports that the dog does not have a microchip;
9:32 p.m.: motor vehicle violations, North Road, a patrol officer reports that he had pulled over for speeding and improper plate display when the motorcyclist fled, dispatch reports that the Holyoke Police Department was advised of the fleeing motorcyclist, the officer reports that he discontinued his pursuit.
5:15 p.m.: general service, Depot Street, an officer approached a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road and discovered the motorist was using her phone and all was in order;
7:20 p.m.: general service, Depot Street, a citizens sought information on the whereabouts of a child.
