6:34 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Buck Pond Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and stopped it, the officer reports the operator’s license was found to be expired and non-renewable, a citation was issued;
2:01 p.m.: fire, Union Street, caller reports power lines are in contact with a tree which is burning, the responding firefighters report a G&E crew was at at the scene and neither fire nor smoke was found;
2:53 p.m.: fraud, Union Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain of fraud, the responding office reports that the complainant said that she received a check which she thought was valid but, after she cashed it and spent much of it, was found to be bogus;
8:06 p.m.: officer wanted, Thomas Street, a caller reports a person with whom she had been living came to her apartment but left abruptly, the man was found nearby and found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant issued in 2013 by the Westfield District Court, Dave Gullett III, 52, of 25 Thomas St., Apt. F5, was arrested on the warrant and his bicycle was transported to the station;
6:08 p.m.: officer wanted, Sycamore Street, a landlady called to report that departed tenants had left a loaded ammunition clip in an apartment, the responding officer reports the clip was accepted for destruction;
6:31 p.m.: vandalism, Union Street, a caller reports vandalism to a motorcycle, the responding officer reports the caller has ongoing issues with neighbors and believes one of her neighbors cut a wire on her motorcycle.
