WESTFIELD

1:50 a.m.: breaking and entering, Magnolia Terrace, a caller reports that there is a group of individuals that appear to be breaking into vehicles in the neighborhood and that they left the neighborhood as the caller was on the phone with police, the responding officer reports that he located a vehicle matching the given description and followed it towards Agawam after the vehicle refused to stop, the officer reports that he did not pursue the vehicle beyond the Agawam town line and that Agawam police were notified of the situation;

9:55 a.m.: gas leak, Lockhouse Road, a caller from a construction company reports that his crew was doing work when they hit a gas line for a commercial business and gas is leaking out, the responding fire deputy reports that traffic was rerouted away from the area and all businesses in the immediate vicinity are being evacuated and that there is a strong gas odor in the air, the deputy reports that the shut-off valve was located and the leak was under control;

 

1:03 p.m.: animal complaint, Feeding Hills Road, a female party reports that she found a black and white cat on the side of Feeding Hills Road and brought it to the police station, the responding officer reports that animal control was notified;

7:55 p.m.: warrant service, Crown Street, an officer reports that several officers will be attempting to serve a warrant for an individual on Crown Street, one officer reports that Neeko Artz, 28, of 25 Crown Street, Westfield was placed under arrest because of an active warrant.

 

SOUTHWICK

9:11 a.m.: officer wanted, South View Drive, a resident reports a fraudulent unemployment claim was made in her name;

10:41 a.m.: larceny, Chapman Street, a vehicle was entered and a wallet stolen;

10:45 a.m.: breaking and entering, Chapman Street, a resident reports an unlocked vehicle was entered and loose change taken;

11:09 a.m.: larceny, Berkshire Avenue, three vehicles were entered and a wallet taken;

11:40 a.m.: larceny, Point Grove Road, an unlocked vehicle was entered and money stolen;

12:13 p.m.: breaking and entering, Berkshire Avenue, a resident reports a vehicle was broken into overnight;

2:40 p.m.: motor vehicle complaint, George Loomis Road, a resident reports an Amazon driver struck a retaining wall after making a delivery, a responding officer reports minor damage to a rock wall.
