WESTFIELD – As reported last week in The Westfield News, the city council’s legislative and ordinance committee is considering an ordinance that would make private ways public ways.
This could help the city by opening it to more funds, particularly from MassDOT’s Chapter 90 funding, and it could help private way residents by allowing for repairs and maintenance on their roads, which is not easily available under the current ordinances.
Below are the listings, by ward, of each private way in Westfield. To navigate, simply click on your ward’s tab and find your street. If your street is listed, then it is a private way and you may be part of the ordinance being drafted.
