A caller recently inquired that the PulseLine look into laws pertaining to driving with a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror. Massachusetts General Law, Ch. 90, Sec. 13 (http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXIV/Chapter90/Section13) states: “No person, when operating a motor vehicle, shall permit to be on or in the vehicle or on or about his person anything which may interfere with or impede the proper operation of the vehicle or any equipment by which the vehicle is operator or controlled…” among other restrictions.
Raises for elected officials, by elected officials… Don’t we have a deficit? The Mayor’s salary is adequate, and I’d be interested to learn the stipends, insurance benefits and other perks given to City Councilors, as well as those for various Boards members, School Committee, etc. It is, after all, called public SERVICE.
Is that good looking fellow in your “hyper local” ad really local? (remembering “truth in advertising”)
PulseLine’s been a major draw of our hometown paper – why have you made it so much less accessible? We need to sign our names and have the time and access to a computer… it’s less used, and less a “pulse line” now. One vote here for phone access. We don’t have the man power to retype messages left on an answering machine. If you, or anyone, would like to volunteer to retype voice-mail messages please contact us. The quickest way to get your thoughts into the PulseLine is either through our website or via an e-mail to: [email protected].
