In response to the item in Thursday’s Pulseline regarding the state of the plantings at Amelia Park and Stanley Park, I have a suggestion. If the plant vista is missed, Grandmothers’ Garden across the street from the Westfield Technical Academy on Smith Ave. is full of varied and profuse annual and perennial blooms. This garden is lovingly tended by volunteers who maintain the original sense and perspective of a late 19th century Victorian garden. This being the weekend of the annual Grandmothers’ Garden Tour, it is presenting one of its seasonal best visages All are invited to visit and just sit and enjoy the garden. It is like a trip back to a quieter more slower paced time, and is a tranquil respite near the center of the city open to all.
