Good afternoon folks. Kevin Medeiros. Hello Pulseline America. I gotta ask a major question, and I’m sure I missed 942 articles about this but could someone tell me what’s really going on down on Ashley Street and Cross Street combination? I happened to go by there today. Oh my God! It looks like downtown Baghdad. Appreciate it. Thanks. Bye. The city continues to deal with Article 97 issues related to construction of a new elementary school at the intersection of Ashley and Cross streets. Here is Dan Moriarty’s latest story on the subject from the July 12 edition of the Westfield News: https://thewestfieldnews.com/?p=56412
Yes, I am a parent of a 14-year-old girl. I was wondering, are there any programs like “Scared Straight” out there I could send her to, to get her straightened out?
I saw the ad in the paper for the Babe Ruth 13 year old team. Congratulations boys! Your hard work paid off! I would like go know if someone from the fundraising group for this team can clarify a few things. The ad is soliciting Greater Westfield for funds to send the team to the Regional tournament in Manchester, NH. What is the total goal for fund raising? Will the funds raised be used for the team only or will funds be used to pay the travel costs of family members as well? Can someone from the Babe Ruth Organization clarify how much of the teams travel costs they cover? Normally, Babe Ruth, the organization covers the teams travel costs. Westfield is a wonderful city and will rally to support our youth, but can we please have a little more transparency with what the fundraising goal is and what the funds will specifically be used for. According to Westfield Babe Ruth Baseball League President Dan Welch, all of the money raised helps fund the city’s 13-Year-Old All-Stars trip to Manchester, N.H., and goes toward such things as accommodations (i.e., hotels/motels) for players and their parents, travel (gas), and miscellaneous things like snacks for players. Only the funds raised by the 13-Year-Old All-Stars team are used for the team. No money is provided by the league. Any remaining expenses must come out of the pockets of the participating players’ families.
