to amy porter, I enjoy the amount of info + detail in your articles about gateway. in your 6/25/2015 report, I did NOT see any information on the superintendent’s final evaluation, and future contract benefits for the superintendent as well as all the non-union contract raises/benefits … did these items require executive session, or were they not covered [they were on the agenda] … the school committee and administration need a bit of prodding to publicize this info … taxpayers get tired of hearing the same old tune during budgeting – “the budget is increased because of the teachers’ contract, special education costs, and transportation” – then nothing is ever reported about the superintendent’s and non-union personnel contracts – aren’t these just as newsworthy as having an important impact on the school budget as the above-listed three time-worn same-old spin info? Most of the items you noted were covered in an executive session at the end of the meeting.
