Even if the public thinks the schools are safe, we can”t be complacent. I think it would be a good idea to have an independent group of volunteers make periodic checks to see the security procedures are being followed. It’s too easy to become lax after long periods with no problems.
I was both amused and angered when I saw the listing in the classified ads in Wednesdays paper about the city taking land from citizens for non-payment of 2012 property tax. The city has too be joking that they plan to take property from residents who owe anywhere from $.84 to $ 47.88 and there are a couple of residents who owe only a few hundred dollars.. THIS IS INSANE! What about the lady working in the Assessor’s Office who stole over $100,000 plus? Did you take HER property?
