WESTFIELD – Raymond E. Lariviere was born on December 11, 1941 in Woonsocket, R.I., the son of Raoul (Ralph) Lariviere and Bertha (Monjeau) Lariviere. He attended Holy Family School and was a member of that parish where he served as an altar boy in his youth. Raymond graduated from Woonsocket High School and joined the US Navy after graduating. He served on the submarine USS 405, Sea Owl based out of New London, Connecticut.
He is survived by Carmel Anne (Sansiveri) Lariviere his wife of 58 years, his son David Lariviere of Westfield, MA and a sister, Janice Lariviere and her husband Gordon O’Keefe from Nashua, NH.
Raymond was predeceased by his son Brian Lariviere and his brother Robert W. Lariviere.
Raymond was employed by Filene’s Department Store until they closed at which time he went to work for Crown Linen Service from where he retired. Raymond and his wife Carmel Anne were the owners of CalCrafts, a cottage industry which produced homemade relishes and pickles which they sold at local farmers markets and craft fairs.
On February 10, 2023 at 12:30 PM a Mass will be held at Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam, MA. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Marie in Holyoke, MA.
