Good Morning Westfield! I hope everyone’s long weekend is off to a good start.
This week was a particularly busy one in our Commonwealth! The House Committee on Ways and Means released their budget for the Fiscal Year 2017 on Wednesday afternoon.
My colleagues and I spent the rest of our week filing our amendments to this proposed budget. Once these amendments are filed and processed, we will debate them and send an amended version of the budget on to the senate.
This weekend I am resting up and finishing my preparations for the Boston Marathon! This is my first marathon and I couldn’t be more excited. I have the honor of running in support of the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes.
This organization is close to my heart. It honors those who have fallen, supports their families, and assists returning veterans with their transition home.
As a Veteran of the war in Afghanistan this cause means a lot to me. I have lost friends in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I will be running for those who did not make it home. It is a true honor to run in support of this organization and the work that they do.
So tomorrow it is off to Boston to get ready to run. Wish me luck on Monday Westfield!
