WESTFIELD—Students at Scanlon Hall at Westfield State University (WSU) were evacuated early Sunday morning after a bomb threat message was found, according to the university’s website.
According to a communication from WSU, students were evacuated from Scanlon hall at 2:30 a.m., after the message was found in that residence hall. The reported threat prompted the response from Massachusetts State Police, WSU Police and Westfield Police, as well as the use of bomb-sniffing canines by the WSU Police.
The communication stated that at 5:10 a.m., students were allowed to return to their rooms following a “determination by the Massachusetts State Police.”
