Robert “Bob” J. Barlow, 68, of Westfield passed away surrounded by his family on March 22, 2019. Born March 16, 1951 in Westfield, he was the son of the late Edward & Mildred Barlow. He was predeceased by his siblings, James & Daniel Barlow. Bob leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Peggy, and their two children, his son, Kevin Barlow and fiancée Christina Dingman, and his “baby girl” Kelly Dupuis and husband Louis all lifelong Westfield residents. He also leaves his pride and joy, his three grandchildren; Tobey Barlow, Emma Bean-Barlow, Rebecca Barlow and his four-legged companion “Buddy”. Bob attended Westfield Trade School and then served six years as a wrecker driver in the Army Reserves. His army experience and love for the road, led him to his career as a truck driver. He drove for various trucking companies over the years. He was the proud recipient of the Million Mile Club and employee of the year awards with Ryder Logistics. During his career he received several safety awards and enjoyed competing in truck rodeos, winning on multiple occasions. After retirement Bob enjoyed woodworking in his garage, and singing “Sweet Betsy from Pike” to his grandchildren. He loved fishing and the outdoors. A huge NASCAR fan, he enjoyed watching and cheering for his favorite driver, Denny Hamlin. Bob was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Calling hours will be Saturday, March 30th, 10:30am-12:30pm and a service will follow at 12:30 pm at Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street Westfield, Ma. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Robert J. Barlow.
