SOUTHWICK – Robert P. “Bob” Greany, 83, a lifelong resident of this town, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Born in Springfield, MA, Bob was the son of the late James & Rachel (Kellogg) Greany, and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Westfield.
Bob was a former employee of the New England Telephone Company, retiring after 30 years of employment, was a member of the Lake George Sportsman’s Club, and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, Michael, wife Cheryl and sons Mitch and Matt of Amherst, NH, Dr. John, his wife Dr. Kris of La Crosse, WI, and their children Thomas, RoseMary, and Rachel. David of Southwick, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary C. (Kelleher) Greany in 1993, and his siblings, Eunice Donovan, Jean Nicoll, Carol Pomeroy, Mary Conniff, Edward, Fred, John, James, Bill, Ralph, and Richard Greany.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. Burial will follow in New Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, July 19th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
