SOUTHWICK – Robert S. Davis, 81, passed away on June 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fitchburg, MA on June 8,1944, he was the son of the late Willard H. Davis, Sr. and Orabel (Watkins) Davis.
Bob grew up in New Britain, CT, the fourth child of six. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed projects with his Boy Scout troop. He connected with his local community delivering newspapers as a preteen and teenager. After high school, he went on to work in a machine shop and shortly after began his studies in education at Central Connecticut State College. He later completed his Master’s in Education at the University of Hartford. During his 35-year career as a teacher, he taught woodworking, metal working, photography, graphic arts, and printing in the inner-city schools of Hartford and Springfield.
He was a founding partner of Blossoming Acres Farm in Southwick, started in the early 1980’s. He was very active in Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster for the local Troop, Explorer Post and Venture Post in Southwick. He was also a founding and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of the Lake Church.
To cherish his memory, Bob leaves his wife Lois (Bober) Davis; his children Christine Davis-Padilla and her husband Osvaldo, Robert S. Davis, Jr., Kathryn Berthiaume and her husband William, Peter Davis and his wife Ana-Maria and Maryann de Labarthe and her husband Jean-Baptiste; his grandchildren Jack, Isabella, Ana-Lois, Gabriel, Willard, Peter, Emily, Daniel, Marcus, Samuel, Ana-Marlene, Constantin, Josephine, Harrison, Lillian, Maximilian and Timothy; his siblings Marlene Bober, Willard Davis, Jr., and Joan Niewem as well as many nieces and nephews, including those who are local: Malin and Larry Cannon, John and Judy Sorrajja, Cheryl Brew and including his goddaughter: Linda Bober Pitts and business partner and niece: Lenita Bober.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his siblings Rodger S. Davis and Diana Tardiff.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours at the Marian Hall at Our Lady of the Lake Parish on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. on July 11th in the church.
