WESTFIELD – 
Mr. Robert William Elder, 84, (1932-2017) passed away on Wednesday, January 04, 2017 at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield, MA. Robert was born on October 19, 1932 in North Adams, MA. Most will remember him as the owner of Bob’s Barber Shop in Westfield, MA where he practiced his passion as a Master Barber. He graduated from Westfield High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob enjoyed adding to his massive collection of records and of course always enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon watching his favorite Westerns on the television. In his spare time he also enjoyed fishing and Word Search puzzles. Predeceased by his parents and a cousin Donald Fiske, Bob leaves his wife Marion Elder of Westfield, MA, his daughter Michelle Manning of Springfield, MA, his son Sean Smola of Westfield, MA, his grandchildren: Christopher Smola, Melissa Cruz and her husband Edwin and Jonathon Manning; great grandchildren: Hayley & Therese Traster, Nina, Adriana, Edgar, Elijah, Alexjandro & Isabel Cruz; great-great grandchildren, Elliot James Smola and Kaiden McLeod, cousins: Becky Fiske, Raymond Fiske and his wife Marianne, Paul Fiske and his wife Melanie, Richard Fiske and his wife Jean and Thomas Fiske and his wife Lori along with many other family members and friends. End of life arrangements have been entrusted to Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy., Southwick, MA.
Robert’s life will be celebrated on Sunday January 29, 2017 from 12NOON – 6PM at the Westfield Moose Lodge, 56 Washington St., Westfield, MA 01085. Military honors will be rendered at 2PM at the Moose Lodge.
