Roland G. Bouchard

SOUTHWICK – Roland G. Bouchard, 94, passed away on December 13, 2022, at Mont Marie Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Holyoke, MA. Born in Springfield, MA on August 3, 1928 to the late Gustave L. and Mary A. (Bouchard) Bouchard, he graduated from Commerce High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1946 – 1947.

For over 20 years, Roland was employed and retired from Mass Mutual. First and foremost, Roland was a devoted Communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church and was an actively involved member until he could no longer attend. In his spare time, he loved photography and videography. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards, cooking on the grill and wood carving. He will be fondly remembered for being meticulous and organized and often writing every detail down.

Besides his parents, Roland was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Claire T. (Grenon) Bouchard, who passed away in March, 2021; his sons Rene R. Bouchard (wife Joan Bouchard Peck) and David R. Bouchard and siblings George Bouchard and Georgette Boucher.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his daughter Marie C. Alamed and her husband Thomas; his grandchildren Pierre R. Bouchard, Benjamin T. Alamed and his wife Christine, Jesse A. Alamed and Jason W. Alamed and his wife Melissa; his great grandchildren Stella Claire Alamed, Samuel Fox Alamed and Sunny Mary Alamed; his sister Irene Breton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5 – 7 PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Funeral services for Roland will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 beginning at 9:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will take place in New Cemetery.
