WESTFIELD – Ronald James Francis left this earth to be with our Lord on Monday, November 6th, 2023.
Jim was a loving husband of 32 years to his wife Sharon and the devoted father to his two children, daughter Laurencia Francis (Riviera-Ortiz) and Michael Francis, who reside in Westfield MA.
He was an Iowa kid born and raised. He would visit his father Ronald Dale Francis, his mother Sheila Ann, his stepmother Kathy, and his stepbrother Steven Stubberud every chance he got. He gained a son-in-law Manuel Riviera-Ortiz who made his daughter happy.
He was a retired (20 years) Navy veteran who loved his country. He was an avid fan of both the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Dodgers, even if they were having a bad season. He loved to play video games and would spend hours playing the Lego version of his favorite movie or characters. Jim was a simple man and didn’t put on airs. What you saw was what you got. He was family and friend to a host of people who loved him for being the person that he was.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother Sheila, his brother Michael Andrew, and his sisters Kimberly Ann and Tina Marie.
A funeral home service will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial-Forastiere Funeral & Cremation Services, 985 Main St., with a committal service and military honors to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main Street, both in Agawam.
Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, from 4-7 p.m.
