Russell J. Johnson, 68, of Westfield died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Agawam. He was born in Waterbury, CT on September 24, 1947 to Cecil and Doris Johnson. Russ attended local schools in Waterbury and was a US Naval Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed as a union roofer and later worked at Tekoa Country Club, Crestview Country Club and St. Ann’s Country Club. Russ was a member of American Legion Post 124 in Westfield and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He leaves his wife of forty-four years, Ann (Salami) Johnson, a daughter Michele L. Johnson, a granddaughter Madison Johnson and son-in-law E.J. Altobello all of Westfield. He was predeceased by a daughter Lori Ann Johnson on December 13, 1991. The service will be Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 PM. Calling hours will be Saturday from 5-8 PM at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
