Ruth (Bettinger) Kaslikowski, 96, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on September 3, 2016 at Baystate
Medical Center. Born in Westfield on April 12, 1920 to the late Earl and Rachel (Atkinson) Bettinger, she lived in Granville most of her life. Ruth worked at Noble & Cooley Drum Shop for many years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, knitting and crocheting, and most of all, caring for her family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband of 17 years, Allen Messenger in 1956; her second husband of 33 years, Stanley C. Kaslikowski in 1990; her cherished son, Douglas Messenger in 2015; and her 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She leaves her son, Richard Kaslikowski of North Carolina; her daughters, Irene Egerton and her husband Matthew of Southwick, and Evelyn Egerton and her husband Stuart of Pahrump, NV; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. A memorial service to honor Ruth’s life will be held on Friday, September 9th at 5:00PM at Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral & Cremation 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. A visiting hour will precede the service from 4-5PM.
