WESTFIELD – Players and coaches from the 2014 14 Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series team, along with league executives, family members and fans, gathered at Bullens Field recently for a ceremony honoring the team. Last summer, the Babe Ruth 14 Year-Old All-Stars captured the attention of the city by winning the Western Mass. Championship and followed that with a New England Regional Championship culminating in a thrilling 5-4 10-inning victory over Trumbell (Conn.) at Bullens Field. The New England champions then traveled to the Babe Ruth World Series held last August in Ocala, Florida. During the ceremony, the league unveiled a bronze plaque – alongside others honoring previous participants – commemorating the team’s World Series run.
