SIMSBURY, CT – Sally Ann Handy, 39, of Simsbury, CT, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born June 17, 1974 in Hartford, CT to Fredrick D. Handy, Jr. and Sally (Beebe) Emerson. She was raised in Granby and graduated from Granby Memorial High School in 1993.
For the past fifteen years she made her home in Simsbury. She will be loved and remembered for her vivacious spirit, infectious laughter, compassion and zest for life. A multi-talented person, her expertise with computers and organizational skills was exceptional. She most recently worked as an administrative assistant with Wings Media Group in Avon. She will most be remembered as a dedicated and loving mom to her son, Jordan.
In addition to her parents she is survived by longtime partner, Christopher Soldate of Simsbury; son, Jordan Soldate of Simsbury; sister, Shannon Handy of Chicopee, MA; step-father, William Emerson, step-son, Steven Soldate; step-brothers, Christopher Westfall and William Emerson; step-sister, Rebecca Emerson; aunt, Diane Beebe and her spouse Micki; uncle, Robert Murray; niece, Sabrina Rinehart; half- brother, Fredrick R. Handy, and half-sister, Elizabeth C. Handy, as well as many special friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 10:30 a.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
