WESTFIELD – Sally (aka, Salamea Bannish) Oleksak, 96, died Friday, April 17, 2020 at her home in Westfield. Her daughter’s Donna and Jo-Ann and her good friend Patricia were by her side to help her transition to heaven. Sally was born in Westfield on August 3, 1923 to the late Anthony and Rosalia (Lesko) Bannish. She was a lifelong resident of Westfield and attended local public schools. Sally worked at Stevens Paper Mill and Stanley Home Products before she married her husband Andrew T. Oleksak Jr. in 1946. She spent a lifetime raising and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church.
Sally was predeceased by her husband Andrew T. Oleksak Jr. in 2005. Sally leaves her children Andrew T. Oleksak III and his wife Modwyn of Westfield, Daniel Oleksak and his wife Charlcey of Granville, Donna Michel and her wife Patricia Sicard of Westfield and Jo-Ann Orluk and her husband Stephen of Montgomery. She also leaves her grandchildren Charlotte, Nathan, Katie B., Jennifer, Sarah, Nicholas, Jessa Mae and Andrew; as well as, her great-grandchildren Mary, Lily, Britney, Codey, Remmington and Gage. Sally also leaves her brother Frank Banas of Chicopee, her sister-in-laws Joan Bannish and Wanda Bannish both of Westfield and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
