WESTFIELD – Sandra Jean (Engell) Bein, 64, (1953-2017) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after unforeseen complications during a routine surgery on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born in Springfield on June 8, 1953 to the late Tenho and Pauline (Amadio) Engell. She was a lifelong resident of Westfield and attended St. Mary’s School and The Westfield Public Schools. She was an extremely kindhearted person that kept her faith close each day. Her love of planting flowers, cooking and making special desserts were true hobbies. Sandy cherished her fond memories of summers at Salisbury and Hampton Beaches. She truly loved the ocean. Sandra leaves behind her husband of 18 years, Kenneth M. Bein, Sr. and her daughter Leslie Bushmann, who predeceased her on May 11, 2014. She leaves her grandchildren Kyleigha, Cheyenne and Mathew; her step- grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Shauna and Colton; her step-children Kenneth Bein, Jr. of Russell, Thomas Bein of East Marion, NY and Alyson Bein of Westfield, her sisters Marsha Okolski of Chicopee, Karen Blue of Rochester, NH, Lorna Mackenna of Myrtle Beach, SC and Marie Tooker Fortin of Westfield and many adored nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 3 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 1-3 pm before the service on Thursday. Firtionadams.com.
