SOUTHWICK – Sharon L. (Yarmesky) Deveno, 71, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, January 13, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was born in Springfield, MA on January 5, 1948, daughter to the late Henry and Edna Yarmesky. She was raised in Westfield and graduated from Westfield High School. Family was most important to Sharon, and everything she did reflected this. She spent several years as a homemaker before taking a bookkeeping/office manager position at United Millwork and Molding, which she left 15 years later to obtain her CDL to drive a big dump truck for her husband, David. Sharon also was the bookkeeper for David’s business for over 40 years. She loved to cook and bake, and was exceptional at both. She was also skilled at crocheting and enjoyed making gifts for people.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, David, of Southwick; daughter Brandy Deveno of Westfield; son Barrett Deveno and daughter-in-law Erin of Southwick; grandson Cole of Southwick; sister Barbara Fristik and brother-in-law Andy of Chester; sister Debra Reopel of Feeding Hills; brother Robert Yarmesky and sister-in-law Lynn of Southwick; and brother-in-law John Deveno of Southwick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sharon is loved by many and is missed dearly.
Visiting hours will take place on Friday, January 18th, 2019 from 1:00-4:00pm, with a celebration of life ceremony immediately following, all taking place at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation on 624 College Highway in Southwick.
