WESTFIELD – Sophie J. (Kaminski) Zarkowski, 89, of Westfield died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was born in Westfield on December 15,1924, the daughter of the late Anthony and Wladyslawa (Bogumil) Kaminski and was educated in Westfield schools.
Sophie was employed as a defense worker during WWII at American Bosch Co., and later worked at the former White’s Quaint Shop of Westfield for fifteen years, retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.
Sophie is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, John and a son, Leonard of Woburn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial at the Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery will be private .There are no calling hours.
