SOUTHWICK – The Friends of the Southwick Public Library held their Annual Meeting on Monday, Dec. 10. A new slate of officers was voted in as follows: Nancy Zdun, President, Karen Drude, Vice President, Joyce Bannish, Treasurer, Bonnie Nadeau, Secretary, Lee Hazelton, Clerk and Pat McMahon, Member at Large. Out-going President Harold “Pete” Heap was honored after 12 years volunteering as President of the Friends. Actor Richard Clark portrayed Andrew Carnegie in a one-man performance tracing his life and history. The 120th anniversary of the Southwick Library was also celebrated with cake and punch. The evening concluded with a drawing of the 15 winning names for the themed raffle baskets which had been donated for the final fundraiser of 2012. The Friends of the Southwick Public Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which funds many programs for the Southwick Library including passes to local museums. Individuals can join for $5, families for $10. Meetings will resume in March with planning for the Spring Book Sale. New members are always welcome.
