SOUTHWICK (WWLP) – A fire destroyed a homeowner’s garage on Vining Hill road in Southwick early Saturday morning.
The blaze was so intense that firefighters evacuated the residents from several nearby homes. 22News learned from the Southwick dispatch center that once the fire was under control, neighborhood residents were allowed back into their homes.
The road, which had been closed as an emergency precaution, was eventually re-opened.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. The home which the garage belonged to did not sustain any visible damage, as the house and garage are not attached.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
