SOUTHWICK – A water main break occurred around 4 a.m. on Thursday near the intersection of Foster Road and Matthews Road and left residents in the area without water for hours.

According to Sgt. Paul Miles of the Southwick Police Department, it’s uncertain what the cause of the break was. Southwick Police did have officers on scene doing detail to direct traffic as both lanes were still open for vehicles despite the break.
Water was restored several hours later.
