WESTFIELD – Stacia A. Whalen, 94, of Westfield, passed away Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Stacia was born January 17th, 1930 in Westfield, daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Stanilawa (Stomsky) Radomski. Stacia was a lifelong resident of Westfield, a graduate of Westfield High school and a communicant of St. Joseph’s National Catholic Church in Westfield.
Stacia was predeceased by her husband John M. Whalen, Sr. in 2003, her brothers Walter, Stanley, Mitchell and Carl and grandson Shawn Whalen.
Stacia leaves behind her sons, John M. Whalen, Jr. and his wife Joanne, Michael P. Whalen and his wife Suzanne, daughters Susan A. Pretola and her husband James, Cindy M. Whalen and Lisa R. Whalen, all of Westfield.
She leaves behind eight grandsons, Kevin Herlihy, Joel Whalen, Jeffrey Herlihy, Michael Whalen, James Whalen, Andrew Whalen, John Pretola and Daniel Whalen and fourteen great-grandchildren: Alan Herlihy, Kayla Herlihy, Lance Herlihy, Liam Herlihy, Tyler Whalen, Noelle Herlihy, Nora Whalen, Brynn Whalen, Katherine Whalen, Sawyer Whalen, Evan Whalen, Kestral Whalen, Parker Whalen and Colin Murphy.
She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Irene Radomski and Kathleen Murphy and several nieces and nephews. Stacia also leaves behind her faithful companion, her cat Annie.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 30th , from 9:30-10:30 at Firtion Adams Funeral Service at 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 73 Main Street, Westfield, MA followed by burial in the St. Joseph’s cemetery.
