WESTFIELD – City residens desiring to vote in the Nov. 4th state election, but who may not be able to go to the polls, can obtain absentee ballots from the City Clerk’s Office.
Residents can obtain the absentee ballots in three ways, including going to the City Clerk’s Office, providing they are currently registered voters, and filling out the ballot and turn it in.
Another method of casting an absentee ballot is to download a ballot from the Secretary of State’s website, or the City Clerk’s website (cityofwestfield.org, click Departments, click City Clerk) print the ballot, fill out the ballot and sign the ballot.
Registered voters can also request an absentee ballot through the mail by sending a request to have the ballot mailed to them. Resident are required to provide their name, date of birth and mailing address, for verification they are a registered voter, and the ballot will mailed.
There is also a box to allow a family member or care provider assist voters who are not capable of completing the ballot because of illness of physical impairment.
Absentee ballots have to be received by the City Clerk no later than noon on Nov. 3, 2014.
