Holyoke – Stephanie M. (Kasek) Pacholec, 91, 
of Morgan Street in Holyoke, passed away on Monday, October 17 at the Mont Marie Healthcare Center in Holyoke. She was born in Chicopee on September 3, 1925 to Lawrence Kasek and Mary (Deren) Sypek Kasek. She was educated in Chicopee Schools and attended Chicopee High School. She lived in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on Beverly Street, before moving to Holyoke in 1957. She was the widow of Stephen S. Pacholec who died in 2004. She is survived by one son, Rev. Daniel S. Pacholec, Pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. Besides her parents, she was predeceased in childhood by her sister Lena Kasek, a half-brother, Stanley P. Sypek, and half-sister, Stella Laplante, all of Chicopee. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Walter Larivee, and a sister-in-law, Julie Haluck, of Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews, including her niece and caregiver, Kristine Wailgum. Fr. Dan would like to thank his family, friends, and his Parish Community in Westfield, as well as the caring Staff of the Mont Marie Healthcare Center in Holyoke – her aides, Maria and Naida, and the loving care and friendship of the Sisters of St. Joseph, over the past nine years. A special thank you to Dr. Vicki Peters and Dr. Will Freedberg for their past medical care, and more recently Dr. Andrew Levin and Nurse Practitioner, Robin Plourde. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 8:45 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street in Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Basilica, 566 Front Street in Chicopee. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. A wake will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 28 from 3:00-8:00 pm, with a Wake Service at 8:00 pm.
