GRANVILLE – The Granville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at around 3 a.m. on Thursday morning. Firefighters arrived to a residence on Lovers Lane and discovered a chimney fire that spread into the ceiling and the downstairs walls.
Firefighters used two engines to put water on the flames and put the fire out without any injuries occurring.
“We were able to save the house with very little damage,” said Granville Fire Chief Matt Ripley.
Despite Granville receiving water supplies and mutual aid from Southwick, Tolland, and East and West Hartland, Granville didn’t end up needing any assistance.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The Granville Fire Department is continuing to investigate the cause.
