Huntington – Susan F. (Barr) Boistelle, 69, (1947-2016) passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Westfield, MA on February 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late, Earl D. Barr and Marjorie E. (Rogers) Barr. She was a lifetime resident of Huntington. Susan was a 1964 graduate of Gateway Regional High School, the first graduating class of Gateway. She was the church secretary at the Huntington Evangelical Church for 30 years and also worked for a time at the former Barnard Rest Home as an activities director for the elderly. Susan was a member of the Women’s Guild and a former member of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Huntington Fire Department. She leaves her husband of 49 years, Bruce H. Boistelle; three daughters, Pamela J. Caputo and her husband Douglas of Agawam, Erin M. St. Onge and her husband Brian of Westfield and Jessica L. Boistelle and her longtime boyfriend Robin Sheldon of Westfield; two sisters, Mary J. Farrar and her husband Larry of Huntington and Wendy J. Mills and her husband Phil of Brownfield, ME; two sister-in-laws, Joan Stolecki and Nancy Boistelle and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins. Susan was an avid reader. She had a tremendous zest for life, always putting a smile on someone’s face or touching the lives of others like only she could. Susan enjoyed the holidays, most specifically Christmas and Halloween. She loved spending time with her family and friends, whether it be just visiting or playing Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble or any number of other board games or cards. There will be a memorial service held Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the O’Brien Hilltown Funeral Home, 27 Russell Road, Huntington, MA. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home before the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
