WESTFIELD – Theodore J. Bashista, 89, of Westfield, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 28, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Westfield, MA on April 8, 1923, the son of the late Andrew and Victoria (Czelusniak) Bashista.
After attending Westfield Trade School, Ted worked for the former Perkins Machine Company in West Springfield, when he got a patent for a technical procedure. He then joined the family dairy farm, which he took over from his father. Ted was a kind and helpful person who had a love of all animals and birds.
He is survived by his sister and brother, Jennie and Edmund Bashista, both of Westfield, and a niece Glenda Garlo of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his sisters, Emily Bashista and Stella Garlo.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Southampton Road in Westfield. There are no calling hours.
