WESTFIELD – Thomas Francis Curran, 87, (1932-2020) passed away at the Holyoke Soldiers Home, on Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was born on October 13, 1932, one of eleven children to the late Daniel and Catherine (Pierce) Curran. Thomas served his country with the United States Army during Korea from 1952-1954 and attained the rank of Corporal. Thomas worked as an orderly for Hampshire County Hospital for over forty years, and retired in 1996. He was a longtime communicant of St. Peter’s Church and a friends of Bill W. for over 40 years.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Theresa R. (Peregrin) Curran, his loving children, Sheila M. Valente-Gamber and her husband Frederick Gamber, Linda J. Curran and David P. Curran, all of Westfield, three brothers, Richard Curran and Bernard Curran of Westfield, Robert Curran of Connecticut, his sisters, Catherine McKemmie and Judith Orciari, both of Venice, FL and three grandchildren, Curtis Valente and his wife Jillian, Megan Curran and her husband Jake Brennan and Erin Valente. He was predeceased by four brothers, Daniel Curran, William Curran, John “Jackie” Curran, Patrick Curran and a sister Rita Bruno.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield, with military honors rendered for his service. Donations in Thomas’ name may be directed to the Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St. Holyoke, MA 01040. www.firtionadams.com
