WESTFIELD – Thomas V. Grazia, 79, (1943 – 2022) died July 17, 2022 in Baystate Noble Hospital, Westfield.
Born in Winsted, CT he was a son of the late Victor Grazia and Grace (Marcon) Grazia. He was a Westfield resident since 2004; having previously lived in Norfolk, CT. Thomas was a retired stone mason, a former restaurant owner, and a machinist. He was a United States honorably discharged veteran.
He served five years in the US Navy (four years on the USS Shelton as part of the Engine Room crew; one year as a Seabee in Vietnam).
Thomas is survived by two sons, Scott Grazia of Torrington, CT, Eric Grazia and his wife Lori, of Southwick, MA; a brother, Jack Grazia and his wife Carolyn, of Winchester, CT; three grandchildren: Abigail Grazia, Mason Grazia, and Gabrielle Grazia, all of Southwick, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Gene Grazia and Bob Grazia.
Tom’s family was from Poschiavo, Switzerland. He traveled there multiple times and was very proud of his family’s heritage. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and trapping, cooking, woodworking, stonework, camping, baseball (Boston Red Sox), Johnny Walker Black, vacationing at Round Pond, VT, and the Catskills – specifically Hunter Mountain.
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00Noon to 3:00PM, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. www.forastiere.com
