Thomas W. Daley

WESTFIELD – Thomas W. Daley, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2025, with his family by his side.  Tom was born to William J. Daley and Irene (Ravenna) Daley on July 21st, 1944.

He was a graduate of West Rutland High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and was the Vermont Golden Glove Boxing Champion.  He received his BA from Castleton State University, his MAT from American International College and his CAGS from Westfield State University.  His first three years of teaching and coaching were in his hometown in which both his basketball and baseball teams played in the Vermont State Finals.  For the next 35 years Tom taught, coached and was an administrator in the Westfield Public School System.   He and his wife are owners of the City Hotel of Westfield, which has been in his wife’s family since 1912.  An avid golfer, Tom was a member of Shaker Farms Country Club and enjoyed many different courses with his friends and family in and around Cocoa Beach, FL.  He was a member of the Sons of Erin, Massachusetts Retirement Association, National Education Association, MIAA as well as several other organizations.  In his later years he enjoyed watching and spending time with his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years Anne, his brother Richard (Wendy), his four children William (Tara), Jeffrey (Kim), Kevin (Jennifer) and Tricia.  He also leaves his seven grandchildren: Matthew, Maya, Abigail, Julia, Benjamin, Jackson, Addison, his sisters-in-law Jane (Gary), Mary Alice/Happy (Bob) and many nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Henry (Joan) and James; sister Noreen (Norman Duby).

Calling hours for Tom will be held on Sunday, October 5th from 2-5 p.m. at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street. His funeral will be held on Monday, October 6th, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
