WESTFIELD—According to Westfield Police, traffic was backed up and four people were transported following a three-car accident on Monday.
According to Westfield police logs, an accident occurred just before 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, that involved three vehicles at the intersection of Springfield Road and East Mountain Road.
According to Westfield Police Capt. Michael McCabe, a total of four people from the accident were reported injured. The four required a total of three ambulances from the Westfield Fire Department. All four were transported to Baystate Noble Hospital following the crash. Three tow trucks were also requested to the scene by police.
McCabe said that the accident had occurred when one vehicle was traveling eastbound and another vehicle was traveling westbound. The vehicle traveling eastbound had reportedly crossed into the path of the westbound vehicle and both vehicles then reportedly struck the third vehicle.
