To the Editor

Hello Westfield, and Ward 3…first a very big I AM SORRY to my neighbors and those who walk Arnold St., re: the condition of my walk way.  On the 21st, I slipped on ice, and flipped up in the air and landed on my side and back, and my typical guy part waited till that Thursday to go to the ER.  I would like to thank the Good Barrister Steve Thomas, from Dunn and Phillips for giving me a ride to the ER, as my driveway was blocked by the plowed snow.  While I am at it, I want to thank the Phantom Neighbor who did snow blower my walk.  Then, the snow came off the front gable, anyway, as a result, of my bruised ribs, and muscles, and not having much money to hire someone, I have not been able to correct the situation.  To make things worse, Ollie could not go on her walks, and has left some BM’s…so again: SORRY.  As soon as I can I will clean it up.  While thanking people I would like to thank Dr. Sean Gemme at Bay State Noble and his team for the great care that I received.  As well, for having a similar sense of humor as myself.  Humor can take away from the pain, and it did.  Thanks!  One more thanks to Westfield G&E for their financial help for my bill..I never would have thought that I would need this, but with the effects and impact of my coerced retirement….sadly, regretfully, I do.  THANKS!

OK, back to me advocating for my neighbors…I know some of my readers are connected to city government:  Whether private contractors by businesses, homeowners, or the city…please do not pile up the snow at the corner blocking access to the cross walk, thus people have to walk in the road to get across the street.  Another concerns that some of the brick cross walks, while looking nice, have the bricks popping up, or are missing, thus adding to the driving mess that we New Englanders must endure.

Once my painful situation heals up I hope to be back at my street talks, and am re-motivated to take on some of the issues of importance.  I hear it from my readers, that “I have not seen an editorial for a week!!”  But, the pain; stuck car and cannot get around, the COLD!; plus dealing with depression, and those limits put to us at age 70, etc., I am glad to know that you are thinking of me…Your former Ward 3 City Councilor, Brian Hoose …[email protected].
