To Chester Voter’s,
May 4th, when we enter our living room of Democracy, we have the opportunity to build the future we want…by creating it, with our Vote. At last years ATM, we Voted to have Ballot questions that could change Elected positions to Appointed. A Yes Vote is needed now, for improved outcomes and a better future for Chester.
Common business sense and observation of weekly Selectboard meetings make it abundantly clear, that responsibility and accountability can only be exercised, when there is oversight. Currently we have several Elected positions, accountable only to themselves.
Our BoS, must be able to enforce best practices, to ensure the result our Town needs and that Voter’s are holding them, responsible for. Changing to the Appointed Model is not only recommended by the State, but by anyone with Management oversight experience.
