Are you tired of what is going on in the world today? Paris, San Bernardino, and the Middle East are examples of terrorist attacks all by ISIS. So many people have been killed. I am a 15 year old middle school student living in Massachusetts and my family is Muslim. I am really proud of my family and our beliefs. I am a Muslim but not what you are thinking. I am not a terrorist and no one in my family is a terrorist. How would you feel if you never saw your family in your entire life, but all you can do is hear their voices on the phone? My dad gets a phone call a few times a month from my uncle to see how everyone is doing. The phone is the only connection they have. But how would you feel if you woke up in the morning and you hear one of your family members got killed? One morning at 4:00 AM, the phone rang and I answered it. All I heard was my uncle crying. He asked me where my dad was. Then I gave the phone to my dad. I was sitting next to my dad but all I saw was the phone dropping from his hands. Then he started crying and told us one of my uncles had died. He was on his way to college and a bomb went off and he got killed. He was 24 years old. I live in the United States and I’ve lived here since I was 7 years old but many of my family members are still living in my country, Iraq. I may never see them again.
People, we only live one life! Let’s see the world without any terrorist attacks. Don’t ever think that all Muslims are behind those attacks. If you read the Quran, you will understand what I am saying. In the Quran it says, “never kill an animal for no reason”, “never destroy crops”, and “everyone should be protected from harm”. Do you know what harm means? Harm means all that Allah doesn’t want us to do. One of the things Allah did not allow us to do is to kill. Allah did not allow us to destroy crops so how would Allah allow us to kill people? What it says in the Quran is, “don’t kill anyone, old, rich, poor, or young for no reason.” Now these days people are getting killed for no reason. Think about the Middle East, Africa, and even America. Look at how many Muslim die each day. Since 2001, at least 1.3 million have been killed as a result of war. If it was really Muslim people behind this than why are they killing people in their own country? Just think, you are Muslim and every day people call you names, you get kicked out of your country, and your family members get killed every day. How would you feel?
