SOUTHWICK – On Wednesday morning around 5 a.m. the Southwick Police Department received a report of a large tree across an eastern stretch of Feeding Hills Road, route 57.
Once arriving on scene, officers found that a large tree not only went across Feeding Hills Road, but also took down several power lines. Shortly thereafter Southwick Police announced that the road would be closed from Foster Road to the Agawam town line.
Two hours later, a little after 7 a.m., Feeding Hills Road was reopened as all debris was cleared, restoring traffic in both directions.
Southwick Chief of Police Kevin Bishop informed the Westfield News that he’s unsure as to the cause of the tree falling.
