WESTFIELD – Verne H. Orton, 64, (1959-2023) passed away on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 at Baystate Noble Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Ft. Lauderdale FL as the youngest of eleven children born to the late Bruce and Oris (Hunt) Orton.
Verne was a graduate of Suffield High School and Cheney Technical School in Connecticut. An accomplished machinist, Verne was the owner and operator of Berkshire Precision Grinding, Inc. in Westfield for 25 years. He was an intelligent and skilled man and was well respected in his trade. Verne loved spending time with his family, riding his Harley, going to the beach, enjoying his pool, and the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Lori A. (Robinson) Orton, his two loving daughters, Alisha N. Sullivan and her husband Brenden of Southwick and Amanda R. Lewis and her husband Cody of Westfield, his three cherished grandchildren, Theodora, Jackson and Eleanor, and his siblings, Richard Orton of Florida, Gary Orton of New York, and Laurie Johnson of Vermont.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Visiting hours will precede the service from 12-2 p.m. in the funeral home.
