WESTFIELD – Vernita “Billie” (Cummings) Yerdon, 82, passed away on July 2, 2014. She was born in Middletown, CT to the late W.J. and Freda (Eigler) Cummings.
She lived in Westfield for the past 45 years, recently residing at the Governor’s Center. She was employed by Digital Equip Co., and was involved in many group activities—such as the singles group of Westfield. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Second Congregational of Westfield.
Vernita had six brothers and sisters, five of whom predeceased her: brothers Edgar, Charles, and Ernest; and sisters Laura Santastefano and Irene Sousa. She leaves her daughter, Vernita Jaeger of Westfield; a grandson, Anthony Yerdon of Boston; and her sister, Ella Stearns of Westfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
