WESTFIELD: Vincent “Vinny” J. Zarcaro, 75 of Westfield, beloved partner of 18 years, Faith Miles, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer, November 17, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, MA. Born February 5, 1940 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Dominica (Leone) Zarcaro. Vinny served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Pratt Whitney as a machinist, then for 22 years at Combustion Engineering as a nuclear technician, traveling often to California to perform work on the nuclear plants there. Prior to his retirement he worked at UniScource Corp. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society where he did bingo on Sundays, helped cook on Tuesdays for club meetings and for the Thursday spaghetti dinners that were open to the public. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants which made for an interesting household because Faith is a Red Sox and Patriot fan. Besides Faith, Vinny is survived by his son, Brian Zarcaro of East Hartford and numerous valued friends. He also leaves his nephews, Anthony Afflitto and Michael Afflitto and niece Regina Moren, sisters-in law Mary and Jean Zarcaro. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Don Zarcaro and sister Lillian Afflitto. A funeral service in celebration of Vinny’s life will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2015 at the MA Memorial Veterans’ Cemetery 1390 Main St. Agawam, MA.
