SPRINGFIELD – Violet Lillian Carrier, (1926-2024), passed away Friday, April 19th, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born in Easthampton MA to the late Malcolm Henrichon and Anna (Rabideau) Henrichon. Violet grew up in Westfield MA and attended Westfield schools.
She was predeceased by her second husband, Harvey (Bill) Carrier and lived in Longmeadow MA before moving back to Westfield. She was also predeceased by her brother Malcolm Henrichon, Jr.
Family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed family gatherings, crafting, and belonging to the Granville Quilting Guild and making quilts for the family. She had many interests throughout her life including belonging to the Red Hat Society.
Violet lived with her two loving daughters for the past several years and leaves behind daughter Beverly A. Symonds Atkinson and her husband Thomas of Westerly RI and Fort Pierce Florida, and Linda J. Symonds Lefebvre and her husband Raymond of Springfield MA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Christine Burnett, Michael Foley, Colette Davis and Todd Lefebvre, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and special people she counted as family.
A graveside Catholic service and Celebration of Life will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice Care, 815 Worcester Street, Springfield, MA 01151.
